I've written regarding new home construction in the

Within these posts and others I provide a "blueprint" for the pursuit of a New Construction Mortgage and what is vitally important should you hope to find success in securing construction financing.
Construction financing is a process ... one that takes place in an ongoing fashion throughout the planning, building, and ultimately ... at the completion of your home. Given that fact, it's wise to be fully educated and familiar with the language and construction terms heard through the financing and building processes.
Now is the perfect time to kick-start that education and get your New Construction questions answered. I'm happy to assist you in that. For financing information and answers, contact me.
To help you during the planning and construction of your home, I went in search of glossaries and dictionaries for New Construction. And I found some great resources to pass on to you ...
For new Construction terminology, I found a handy glossary provided by Home Building Manual at:
From A to Z, this glossary provides 100's of words and their definitions heard and used while you, your General Contractor, and sub-contractors plan and build your home.
Another great source of info was available in a BigRentz article entitled, "Understanding the Construction Terms and Lingo Used During Home Remodeling Projects". It covered everything from general terminology used during a new construction project ... to Concrete, Doors and Windows, Electrical, Masonry, and more.
Some additional sources of info:
- 10 Questions to Ask When Buying New Home Construction
Questions to Ask When Buying New Construction
- Gene Mundt - New Construction Board - Pinterest (contains general construction info, floor plans, "how-tos, videos, tutorials, ideas, more)
For those hoping to include "green" features in their new home, I've also included a few resources that will help explain and define what makes a home or product "green". (There are many more available if you google "green construction".)
Many contractors are now touting their knowledge and abilities to supply green sustainable homes to buyers. This is a very timely topic as this form of construction is growing in popularity as well as importance.
Those resources are:
- Green Builder Magazine
- EPA.GOV Green Building
- Jan Green - HomeSmart (An agent in Scottsdale, AZ. Jan is a recognized expert, advocate, and resource for green construction - living)
- BuildingGreen
- HUD Exchange - GreenBuildingAdvisor Glossary
The good news is: A large menu of features and options exist for you to learn and choose from ... beginning with lot search ... to the decision of building plan and construction ... through Construction financing.
To secure the most advantageous options for every step of the new construction process, you'll need to be fully educated and familiar with all you'll hear and be expected to make decisions on. These resources provided above will assist you in achieving that important goal.
