School will soon be back in session for children attending Manhattan School District 114 schools (Manhattan, IL) ... my hometown. 

The first full day of the 2017-2018 school year is slated for August 23, 2017.  

Parents should be aware:  Attendance for Student Orientation and Locker Move-In ... plus "Back to School Open House" and Supply Drop-Off dates/times may be in play for their child, depending on their age and class level. For info on those upcoming dates, please click HERE.

There are 3 schools located within Manhattan School District 114.  Those schools are:

If you're considering a move into the Manhattan area, but are unsure if your children would attend a District 114 school, you can check the District 114 school boundary map HERE ...  or call the District Office at:  815.478.6093. 

Registration info for students NEW to the District can be found by clicking HERE.  Thorough instructions will assist you through the registration process.  

After the online portion of registration for NEW students has been completed:  New registrants must go to the School District Office located within the Wilson Creek School to prove residency.  They're required to provide an original Birth Certificate for each new student, plus a copy of the new student's current physical.  

Information for online registration for CURRENT students can be obtained HERE.  After forms are filled out, parents must sign into their HomeLogic account and pay registration fees due.  

If paying by check:  Make the check (clearly noting the student's name) payable to Manhattan School District 114.  Mail the check to the school in an envelope marked "Registration Fees".

Manhattan School District 114 utilizes "Virtual

" as a part of their "green" initiative and communication system between the school students and families and the community and businesses.  

Manhattan schools also uses HomeLogic, a software app.  It enables students and parents to easily access the student's information, assignments, and grades via the internet.

Manhattan School District offers a full variety of activities for its students plus opportunities for parents to assist and be involved with their students and schools:  
  • The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is active within District 114 schools.  Opportunities to volunteer within the schools exist via the PTO.  For info, click HERE.  
  • Music - Band - Choir - Orchestra education is very important at Manhattan School District 114.  
  • The District offers:  Beginners Band, Concert Band, Marching Band, Summer Band, Symphonic Band, Choir, and Orchestra.  The School District provides beginning band during 5th grade. 
  • Band Boosters and Orchestra Boosters provide all manner of support to the Instrumental/Orchestra Music Departments
  • A full menu of athletic opportunities exists at Manhattan School District 114 schools.  Offered sports include:  Track, Cross Country, Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Volleyball
         If your child is interested in taking part in a sports tryout or team:  They're required to have a current sports physical on file prior to participation. Be aware: An Activity Fee Form must be completed/submitted along with an Activity Fee.
  • There is an active Athletic Boosters Club for parents and fans of student athletes. The Booster Club promotes and supports the athletes, athletic teams, coaches, and sports department throughout the year.
