     Home.  A small, simple word that wields undeniable impact and emotion ...  

     After working with many veterans over the years, I've come to believe that U.S. soldiers ... those that have served to protect us and our way of life ... know the meaning and immense power of the word "home" better than most.  And as a result, their desire to have a home to call their own is more keenly felt.

     They've more than earned the right.  The VA benefits offered them are their due.  They've put everything on the line.  Helped protect our homes and homeland.  Certainly helping them to buy and enjoy a home of their own is the least we can do in repayment for their sacrifice.  

     In keeping with that trust ... and in exchange for their serving their country honorably, the U.S. veteran is provided the right to buy a home enjoying these benefits:


  • NO Money Down Financing
  • Mortgage Insurance Exemption
  • Closing Cost Savings.  Some Closing Costs simply CAN'T be charged to a Veteran Borrower

     Since Closing Costs and pre-paid items do exist (such as Reserves for Real Estate Taxes and Insurance, Interest for the month the Closing occurs, and Lenders and Title Company Fees) regulations and guidelines allow for a Closing Cost CREDIT of up to 4% of the Purchase Price be paid by the Seller at the time of Closing.


     Yep, you read that right.  Literally, Veteran Buyers can, in the case where the Sellers are paying Closing Costs, come to Closing with little or NO MONEY.

     The qualified U.S. Veteran is entitled to:


  • Competitive Interest Rates
  • NO Money Down options
  • NO Mortgage Insurance Required  
  • Closing Cost, Pre-Paid Escrow and Interest Credits from Sellers up to 4%
  • An exemption from certain Closing Costs being charged to them

     They protect our homes.  We as grateful citizens assist them in buying one of their own.  
Sure sounds like more than a fair deal to me ...

Paper or Paperless billing?  Which serves YOUR needs best?


These days, companies are under pressure to go "green" and become more environmentally friendly.  As a result, an increasing number of businesses are offering their customers a paperless option with which to receive and pay their bills. 

There are obviously many positives to be found within these paperless services:


Trees are saved  Reduced postage costs  Less paper documentation to organize or save/storePossible rewards for switching to paperlessPayments can often be made/posted same-dayAutomated payments can be set-upMore
But I can tell you from my vantage point as a Chicagoland/IL/WI Mortgage Originator, there are also negatives to be found within paperless methods.  For some of my mortgage clients, the choice of going "paperless" just hasn't worked well.

 For some, an email or text reminder regarding payment of bills has not been enough. They NEED a paper billing to arrive in their mail.
