2019 - Easter Egg Hunts
in the Lincoln-Way Area
The Lincoln-Way area, located in the far southwest suburbs of Chicago, is made up of 4 main communities ... Manhattan (my hometown), Mokena, New Lenox, and Frankfort.
Each of these four towns and their surrounding areas has seen major population and business growth over the last few decades. Over that time, residents have seen big change. There are increased services available from all levels of government and business certainly, but outlets and opportunity for much more have also arrived in the area.
Spring and Eastertime provide ample showcasing of that being fact. Each of the four communities, once again, is offering local residents multiple options to enjoy and celebrate the season. The number of Easter Egg Hunts available for enjoyment is just one example.
Each year I share info from many of the venues and municipalities offering residents Easter Egg Hunts. Below you will find many of this year's (2019) events being hosted within Lincoln-Way Area borders. Please note that some are for children and families, while others focus solely on adults or dogs.
I have tried to provide links to additional information pertaining to each event. As weather can be very fickle at this time of year, please use these links (and others) and make sure to check on your event prior to heading out.

Mokena Easter Egg Hunt - Mokena Lions Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 13th
Times: 10:30 am – 12 pm
Mokena Main Park, 10925 La Porte Road, Mokena, Illinois
Thousands of candy-filled eggs! The Easter Bunny will be in attendance.
Mokena CREAMERY 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Times: 11 am and 1 pm
Sunday, April 14th
Ages: 2-10 Years
Each Egg may contain a gold coin, redeemable as follows:
1 gold coin = kid ice cream cone
2 gold coins = small ice cream cone
3 gold coins = small sundae
4 gold coins = small blaster
Coins only redeemable on April 14 at the Mokena location
ADULT ONLY Easter Egg Hunts
New Lenox Park District - "Hoppy Hour"
Date: Friday, April 12th
Time: 8 pm - 11 pm
The New Lenox Park District is turning 50 this year, so come dressed in 60’s attire. "Best Dressed" contest, live music, adult beverages, food truck(s), egg hunt.
Must be 21 years & Older - Bring your I.D.
Registration and Ticket needed to attend the event
Fee Charged - Fee includes 5 drinks
Eighth Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt at VFW
Date: Saturday, Apr 13th
Time: 7:00pm
VFW Post 9545 - 323 Old Hickory Road, New Lenox, IL
Adults Only – Must be 21 years of age or older. Bring ID
Fee Charged. Tickets available at the VFW @Friday Nite Fish Fry, Bingo Night, and night of the event
Fee includes Flashlight. Raffle, prizes, DJ/Entertainment, etc.
DOG Easter Egg Hunts
Dog Egg Hunt
Schoolhouse Manor Park
Date: Sunday, April 14th
Time: 12:30 pm
Eggs are filled with dog-friendly treats to “sniff” out. Dogs MUST be kept on a leash. Easter Bunny in attendance for pictures.
Super Dog Egg Hunt - Bark Park
Date: Saturday, April 13
Time: 2:30 pm
Hunt takes place at Bark Park: Commissioners Park – Sauk Trail and 80th Ave
FREE
Treat-filled eggs. Special eggs win a prize. Get a photo with Peter Cotton Tail. Families and all friendly dogs are welcome at this free, on-leash event. An adult should accompany dog-owners under 12 years of age.
